2012 Optometry’s Meeting®

Chicago, Illinois

About the American Optometric Association (AOA):

The American Optometric Association represents approximately 36,000 doctors of optometry, optometry students and paraoptometric assistants and technicians. Optometrists serve patients in nearly 6,500 communities across the country, and in 3,500 of those communities are the only eye doctors.  Doctors of optometry provide two-thirds of all primary eye care in the United States.

Why should I attend Optometry's Meeting®?

Our meeting has been around for more than a century and is well-known in the industry, and for good reason.  Join us and...

·         INCREASE your knowledge with over 300 hours of education

·         EXPAND your contact base by visiting 200+ innovative exhibitors

·         ENGAGE in networking events developed with you in mind

·         SHAPE your future by participating in the House of Delegates

·         ATTEND Optometry’s Meeting® - where your profession comes to life!

We provide optometric professionals with the latest and greatest technologies and solutions that optometry has to offer with our wide-range of educational topics and exhibitors.  Our attendees know when they attend our meeting they can expect to find everything they need to succeed: like how to become a paperless practice, the latest pharmaceutical research, the latest trends in contract lenses and frames, and the newest office equipment and services available.  Furthermore, as the national association of optometry, we are also able to provide our patrons with the latest and greatest news on Capitol Hill, with updates on health care reform and health initiatives that effect optometry, the way they practice, and their patients every day.

ATTENTION, attendees, we have a great tool to improve your meeting experience! We hope you enjoy this software that will assist in making your experience before, during, and after Optometry’s Meeting® more efficient and enjoyable.

Please look at the pane on the LEFT to try out some of these great features - Under Attendee, you will find our Exhibitor List and Exhibitor Search Tool.  Under Exhibitor List, our Ophthalmic Council participants will appear first in the list; with all other exhibiting companies in alpha order thereafter.  You can click on any company name to see their full listing and to request that the company contact you.

Under the Exhibitor Search feature, you may search companies via the first letter of their name; by sub-category; such as “Low Vision Aids”; by state or province, and/or keyword.

Under the My Briefcase Feature, you can assemble a customized list of exhibitors to visit during your time in the Exhibit Hall, called "My Expo Plan."  You will need to create a login to take advantage of this tool. You can add exhibitors to your "Expo Plan" from the Floor Plan, Exhibitor Search, or Exhibitor List. Once registered, you can come back as many times as necessary to update your "Expo Plan."

When viewing the floor plan, you can select a category, such as Contact Lens, and all companies listed within that category will automatically be highlighted on the floor plan, which you can then save and/or print.  However, this year the hall is physically sectioned by category (Contact Lens, Pharmaceutical, Diagnostics, etc.) so you can easily find companies and quickly "shop" in the areas that currently pertain to your business needs.

The above features are only a few examples of the various ways this technology will improve your meeting experience. We encourage you to try it!
